Thanks to growing customer demand, Salon Service Group, a professional salon products distributor, has recently begun construction on a new, 45,000-square-foot facility in Springfield. The company will invest $4.5 million in the new headquarters project, according to a press release from the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership.

“It’s been a great 27 years, and we are really excited about the future at Salon Service Group,” said Gino Barbo, founder and owner of Salon Service Group. “The relationships we have built with our customer base through our employees has been the core of our success. All of us at Salon Service Group take great pride in what we do, and that pride flows from the community and the people in it.”

Salon Service Group is a privately held company that supplies professional hair care products from nine major health and beauty brands to salons serviced across a 10-state area. In order to optimize benefits available from state and local incentive programs, the company strategically selected a building site for its new facility in an enhanced enterprise zone. The program provides 50 percent property tax abatement for 10 years, with an added bonus of an additional 25 percent abatement for LEED Silver (or higher) certified buildings.
