Blooom tops the One in a Million startup competition
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Retirement fund advisory service platform provider Blooom won the grand prize in the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation One in a Million startup competition. The company beat out more than 370 other entrants to take home the $10,000 top prize.
Leawood, Kansas-based Blooom was established in 2014 and currently has 1,000 clients in 48 states and $108 million in assets under management. And the One in a Million honor isn’t the firm’s only accolade, as earlier this year, Blooom was named one of the “Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Personal Finance” in 2015 by Fast Company magazine and also won a won a $50,000 grant from LaunchKC.
