Green Supply expansion supplying more jobs in Vandalia
VANDALIA, Mo. — Hunting, outdoor and sporting goods distributor Green Supply is expanding its operations in Vandalia. The firm is expanding its warehouse distribution center, which will create 31 jobs.
The 50-year-old, family-owned company is constructing an additional 33,000 square feet of warehouse, which brings the company’s footprint to over 120,000 square feet. This is the company’s largest expansion since opening the doors of its first building in 1967.
“Innovation and great people are what’s driving this company forward,” said Green Supply owner William Green. “This is a family-owned company, in its third generation of operations, and this growth and our success would simply not be possible without innovative employees who are our neighbors and our tremendous dealer network.”
Green Supply is developing innovative warehouse automation to ensure faster shipping time to meet customers’ needs. This means electronic order processing, a new warehouse management system and 2,000 additional feet of conveyor through the facility. Six new loading docks are also improving the receiving department.
Green Supply offers over 47,000 products from more than 340 manufacturers. The company is already hiring for six of these positions, which includes programmers, sales people and managers.
To assist Green Supply with its expansion in Vandalia, the Missouri Department of Economic Development has offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and capital investment criteria.
