New owners of Phoenix Manufacturing will create 45 jobs in Glasgow (MO)

GLASGOW, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Economic Development today announced that Illinois-based Turnkey Processing Solutions, a bulk material handling and mineral processing company, has acquired Phoenix Manufacturing along with its operations in Glasgow and Cole Camp. The company will add 45 new jobs over the next two years and invest $1.25 million in improvements at the two facilities. The Phoenix Manufacturing name will be retained.

“More and more companies are seeing the value that comes with being a part of Missouri’s strong manufacturing industry,” said Mike Downing, director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “The world wants what Missouri makes and our record export sales are indicative of the high quality Missouri-made products produced throughout the Show-Me State. We are pleased to have Turnkey Processing Solutions enhance our manufacturing portfolio as well as create jobs in these communities.”

Phoenix Manufacturing is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that makes end products for air pollution control, asphalt production and tanks for liquid and dry storage to name a few. The company also offers custom industrial fabrication for parts used in a wide range of other companies’ end products, for example, water treatment and food services products.

“We are pleased to continue and expand our role in the community,” said Dave Bartel, president and general manager of Phoenix Manufacturing. “This is truly a win-win for the community at large and for Phoenix Manufacturing.”

Job openings all relate to industrial fabrication.

“Throughout our history in Glasgow and Cole Camp, we’ve trained hundreds of employees in technical skills, and this is a strategy that works for us. Degrees aren’t necessary. Attitude is 99 percent, and skills we can teach to the right person — that’s my philosophy. Fortunately we have a lot of great workers in this area,” Bartel said.

Phoenix Manufacturing is also a proud supporter of military families and has hired at least one veteran through Missouri’s Show-Me Heroes program. Show-Me Heroes helps military personnel returning from deployments gain employment that uses their unique skills. Since its inception in 2010, the program has helped more than 8,100 veterans obtain employment with over 4,600 participating employers.

To assist Phoenix Manufacturing with its growth, DED has offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation criteria. Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation was a key partner on the project.
