Missouri Chamber’s Show-Me contest encourages manufacturing careers – VIDEO

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — If a picture is worth a thousand words, then how much is a three minute video worth? If the videos produced by the students in the first inaugural Show-Me Manufacturing contest are any indication, the value is great.

This new program allowed students from five Missouri schools to connect with local manufacturers. The students were tasked with creating videos that answered the question: What’s so cool about manufacturing? Click here to watch the videos.

Students answered the challenge with insightful videos and a new perspective of manufacturing careers. The overall winners of the contest were students from the Troy 9th Grade Center. In addition, students from the Elsberry High School won the award for the best video story.

The contest is part of the Missouri Chamber’s new Dream it. Do It. initiative, a national effort organized by the National Association of Manufacturing – Manufacturing Institute, to encourage manufacturers to open their doors and promote manufacturing career pathways to area youth.
